Rogers High School STP

Rogers High School Summer Training Program

The Summer program consists of on-ice and off-ice training to improve individual skills while implementing team chemistry. 

The program consists of individual skill work, positional work, European edge work, explosive and lateral quickness skating; and small area games designed for skating, hands, compete, scoring, body positioning, body contact, puck protection and hockey sense.

  • High paced skills and drill designed for skating/hands cohesion. 
  • Skating: Power edges, European exaggerated knee bend and overspeed. 
  • High tempo passing, puck control and shooting for optimal scoring ability. 
  • Small area games designed for high compete and high end hockey sense playmaking.
  • Body positioning and body checking to create puck possession.
  • Forward and Defensemen position splits.

Off-ice training will focus on building their speed, strength and athletic training. 

Goalie Specific training will be provided.

It will be a 10-week program.

June 1 - July 31

Weekly On Ice Schedule: Session groups will vary

  • Sunday's - 6:45-7:45pm
  • Monday's - 10:45 am - 11:45 am
  • Tuesday's - 6:45-7:45 am
  • Wednesday's - 10:45 am - 11:45 am
  • Thursday's - 6:45-7:45 am

RHS On Ice Program:

  • High paced skills and drill designed for skating and hands. 
  • Skating: Power edges, European exaggerated knee bend and overspeed. 
  • High tempo passing and stick-handling. 
  • Small area games designed for high compete and hockey sense.
  • Body positioning and body checking.
  • Forward and Defensemen splits.
  • Meetings with coaches evaluating progress constantly.

RHS Off Ice Program:

Off-ice training is in conjunction with The Base Sports Performance and Rogers High School Staff. The Base and Rogers High School Staff will work with the kids to build their speed, strength and athletic training.

  • Sports Nutrition Series
  • Mental Preparedness
